A three-window house in the district of Ehrenfeld in Cologne is being modernized.
The measures mainly relate to improving the basic energy efficiency of the house, which originally dates back to 1920.
The heterogeneous surfaces were removed and homogenized in terms of colour so that the many structural elements fit together better and meet the residents' need for a bright, light-filled living environment.
A wintergarden as a thermal buffer zone serves as an additional transitional space that is neutral in terms of use.
Sample windows were installed in the former dovecote to conserve resources.
